EUhackathon Hack4Kids

Team Members: Noora Vainio, Matti Nelimarkka, Nyyti KinnunenOur team won the creativity track.
The Hack4Kids (H4K) event will be the second ‘hackathon’ organised in conjunction with the European institutions in Brussels. As was the case last year, the goal is to build a bridge between the ‘old’ (i.e. the European Institutions and law-makers) and the ‘new’ world (i.e. the Internet and the coders/developers), with the additional dimension of kids being the key end-users and actively involved in the jury.
The Hack4Kids EUhackathon revolves around two tracks: 1) a child safety and 2) a child creativity track.
Selected applicants have their travel and accommodation costs covered and the winner or winning team in each track will be awarded €5.000, courtesy of our sponsors. -

Millenium Youth Camper
- June 2012
Millennium Youth Camp offers young people between years 16-19 an overview of Finnish expertise and top-level research in the natural sciences, mathematics and technology. Students network with each other, with individuals in Finnish companies and organisations, and with top scientists.
The target of the international Millennium Youth Camp is to find young people interested in mathematics, science and technology, and help them start up a career in these fields. During the one-week-camp, Youth Campers are introduced to a number of Finnish companies and higher educational institutions. In addition to lectures, workshops and visits to Millennium Youth Camp partners, the programme includes project work supervised by top-level experts and carried out in small multi-national groups.
The 2012 Millennium Youth Camp programme included lectures, workshops, meetings with top Finnish scientists, teamwork, visits to cooperating organisations and also some time for leisure activities.The 2012 Youth Campers also met the 2012 Millennium Technology Prize winners. -
